The continuing saga of the new front porch…(hopefully)
Monday- Clyde and I met Tim down at Lowe’s on Monday to choose materials and see if Lowe’s would draw the plans for it. Tim knew a lady there who said she could do the plans and give us an estimate.
Tuesday-I had a workshop in Grand Junction but Clyde was home. A different person from Lowe’s faxed us an estimate including materials we didn’t ask for and different size posts that we did ask for. Neither Clyde nor Tim were happy. Lowe’s also does not carry in stock the right size posts or the right size concrete blocks to put the posts on so we will need to check with some other lumber yards.
This morning we are supposed to go see the building inspector and check on the size of the posts again and whether ceder counts as treated wood. Clyde does not want to use the green pre-treated stuff if he can help it.
